Question
We just installed a new used BCM. we were told there was a programming sequence we needed. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan, yr2000. do you know the sequence?

Answer
Hi Herman,
The main issue is to enable the vehicle theft security system. If you don't have that system then it may be a moot issue. If you do, then a shop level diagnostic readout box (Chrysler DRB III) is needed to do that. Start by turning the ignition 'on' for 15 seconds to all the bcm to learn the VIN. Then if you do have VTSS you will need to enable it at a dealer, but give it a try first to see if the VTSS will 'set' as usual.
If there were problems with body systems before replacing the bcm, then erase the fault codes for those using the DRB. Then check for new fault codes and the functioning of the previous problem system after turning the ignition 'on' for 5 seconds.
This should all take but a few minutes at a dealer so should have minimal shop time.
