Chrysler Repair - 1999 Chrysler 300M: won't start

Expert: Roland Finston - 6/30/2009

Question
My car died while driving down the road, The car would not restart, the engine does turn over but slowly, it has a newer battery and we did charge it in case that was the problem, car still won't start. All lights still work, car just will not start.  Any Suggestions, Thank You

Answer
Hi Linda,
Try using the ignition key to get any fault codes that may be stored in the engine controller. Turn it:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on", doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window to see it to change to show 4-digit numbers preceeded by a P. Let me know what they are and we'll go from there.
Roland
