Chrysler Repair - 2003 Sebring Front Bumper Replacement

Expert: Roland Finston - 6/30/2009

Question
Any tips/advice on how to remove and replace a front bumper on a 2003 Sebring LXi convertible?  Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hi Jack,
Unfortunately the closest manual I have is for the '00 Sebring convertible which I believe is not identical to the '03. I believe that arount '01/'02 the Sebring Convert. became a subset of the Sebring/Stratus sedan body as opposed to a separate vehicle. Is that your understanding too? So while I do have the '03 Sebring convert/sedan manual, it is not complete and so iit references to the '02 Sebring/Stratus manual for missing sections, which I don't have.
In general to remove the fascia panel you will find it is held in place by push-pin fasteners that have a center pin which when gently pried out will release the fastener. You may have to remove the wheel well splash shields at their front panels to gain access to some fasteners. And there are probably fasteners related to the grille and to lower radiator closure panel/bumper bar, and the wings of the fascia to the front edge of the fenders.
So try to carefully remove the push-pins, although you no doubt can replace them if they break. But they probably cost a dollor or so each.
Roland
