Chrysler Repair - odometer/speedometer

Expert: Roland Finston - 7/4/2009

Question
1992 dodge dynasty Speedometer works but odometer does not. Is there one sensors for each, and if so where are the locations ? I have changed put the cluster and the module located on the kick panel on passengers side with no luck. Many thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Johnny,
Because the speedo works that means it is not a sensor or wiring from the trans to the body computer or body computer to cluster, but rather a gear in the cluster itself that drives the odometer. Go to www.odometergear.com for info on replacing the gear. You can also buy a gear at a local speedo repair shop if there is one near you.
Roland
