Question
QUESTION: WHERE IS THIS LOCATED

ANSWER: Hi Jennifer,
If this is the 4-speed automatic, then the output speed sensor is on the side of the driver's side of the transmission just to the rear of the vertical rod which shifts the gears. There are two such sensors and they look alike: the input turbine sensor is in front of the vertical shift rod and the output sensor is to the rear of that same rod. They are at the same level. Lift the tab on the plug to remove that. Then unscrew the sensor and be sure that a dust seal doesn't get misplaced when you are installing the new unit. Tighted the sensor to about 20 foot-pounds of torque which is about the same as is needed for spark plugs.

QUESTION: The code reader said it was #2 sensor. My car is a 5 speed automatic. Where is this sensor. Thank you for your quick response

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
Evidentally that 5-speed automatic was first sold in the '08 model for which I don't have a shop manual. My latest manual is an '07 which still used the 4-speed.  However I would not be surprised if its output speed sensor (no doubt #2) is as I described for the 4-speed. So take a look to see if you see what I described. One other possibility would be that you are still under the manufacturer's warranty, but I don't know how long/how many miles that was at the time it was purchased.
