Question
i just bought a 2007 chrysler sebring touring addition sedan with a 2.7 V6 ecofuel (e85) engine. the started getting misfire codes p2311,002 and 003. I sent the car to my mechanic and put in new spark plugs, new coils, and new gaskets. the car still stalls but not all the time and it starts right back up.i brought it back to the mechanic and he says that it has to be  the computer(pcm). he stands by the job he did and assures me that it isn't a real misfire but a pcm malfunction. i don't get a code for the pcm.what should i do?

Answer
Hi Jose,
The 2302 and 2311 codes are indeed related to the secondary spark on two of the cylinders and replacing the coils and plugs could have solved that. Alternatively, there could be an issue with the primary wires that drive coil outputs, the voltage output of the autoshutdown relay, or the pcm is also listed as a possible cause (as the mechanic suggested). The 2303 is not a listed code. Might that be a 2503? That would indicate that the charging voltage is too low, which in turn if true could cause there to be a too low voltage on the sparks. So see if you are getting 15.3v from the alternator. Also do another code readout and verify if you do have a 2303, as I am working from an '06 manual which may be out of date compared to your '07 engine.

PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the 'pool' to which it had been referred by Kevin.
