I have a 1995 eagle talon an it drives good around town shifts excellent until i get on highway then when it get to over drive it down shifts to low gear what is that?

Hi Ken,
Chances are the transmission is acting up such as to cause the computer to put it into 'limp-in mode' which is 2nd gear only. That minimizes wear and tear until you can diagnose what is wrong.
There is a plug under the dash which a OBD-I code reader can be connected to which will tell you what specific fault code is stored in the memory of the transmission controller. An indpendent trans shop with such a reader can get the code (a 2-digit number). Ask what is the number, what it means, what they suggest doing, and how much it will cost. Then get back to me with the results and we'll compare to the manual.
