Question
I was slow replacing my flasher relay, then noticed my park light,left blown. I replaced it. AT some point I blew the turn signal fuse. Lost parking lights,signals,flashers,rear running lights, & side marker lamps, and panel display light(not radio). Anyway bought a new Flasher Relay thinking it controlled all the lamps, but the replacement FC641 BWD did not fix it. My headlamp module is leaking goop 4373531, but it only controls the headlamp covers, right? My headlights and brake lights are the only ones working. Can you zoom in on a specific likely cause? Tomorrow I will check wires more, all fuses, swap out relays etc and maybe the engine control module to the old one. But if you can save me all of that it would be great. Thanks, Mary

Hi Mary,
The '90-on Lebaron lighting system is really unusual. There are a bunch of relays involved located in the relay center on the kick panel to the left of the driver. The combo headlamp switch instead of directing current functions by controlling relays (by grounding their acutation coils). I wonder what the engineers wanted to accomplish.
The fuses are fairly clearly assigned: park/tail/side marker lamps come from fuse #21 and its associated parking lamp relay. The hazards come from fuse #28 and the combo flasher and several relays, the turn signal from fuse #6 and several relays.  There is also a 'diode package' in the relay center that could be faulty if the fuses all check out, but don't jump to buy that yet. I doubt the engine control module has anything to do with the situation, and probably not the body computer either. Correct on the headlamp module only controlling the doors. Let me know what you find with the fuses I listed.

On the turn and hazard not working, because you have a new flasher unit, and fuses 6 and 28 are presumably OK, that leaves the 'diode package' in position 11 (front of the third row from the top) of the relay block as the only component that might have failed, or the hazard/turn signal switch might have a loose plug or an internal failure, or something in the wiring could be disconnected like a ground wire. I am not one to 'throw parts' at a problem but you might inquire at a dealer about the cost of the diode package and if it isn't too costly get that. Also I would hope that the new combo flasher was of good quality. I have the wiring diagram and can xerox and postal mail that to you if you like.
