Chrysler Repair/anti theft system; '93 C-body New Yorker

QUESTION: 1993 (03/1993) Chrysler new Yorker 3.3L car starts and runs a few seconds and shuts off. Battery was replaced and since the antitheft system is causing light flashes etc (assumption) also at crank the anti theft light remains on and flashes with lights upon reconnection of battery terminals. Drivers door lock manual reset doesn't work and keyfobs do not work. Ideally I would love to just permanently disable the antitheft system but I need to move the car ASAP so whatever is quicker.

ANSWER: Hi Matt,
First I need to know whether this is the new for '93 LH body or the last of the C body previous model New Yorker. They were both available that year and the theft systems are quite different. The old one can be disabled, the new model can't and so we would have to figure out what to do to correct it if that were the case. When you say the driver door lock manual reset doesn't work, what are you referring to? Do you have fresh batteries in the key fobs? I will get back to you as soon as I hear from you.

That is good news. The alarm module is located above the glove box. So remove that box first, many screws around the door opening. Then look up above where you should find two or three modules, one behind the other. The rearmost ( i.e.,towards rear of car), is the lamp outage module, the next forward is the remote keyless entry module, and the front module is the anti-theft module. The plug is on the front side, natural in color with 21 pins but it will likely be hidden from view. Now to get to that plug you will probably have de-mount the module from the crosspiece to which it is attached or remove the crosspiece. Now this is very important: DO NOT PULL THE PLUG OUT OF THE MODULE UNTIL YOU HAVE THE ENGINE RUNNING OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET INTO A 'HARD' LOCKOUT SITUATION.
What you have to do rather is to first cancel the alarmed status so the engine will then start and run. To do that you must simulate the unlocking of either front door (which isn't working now because of failed wiring no doubt). The wire on pin 4 (dark green/orange) comes from the passenger door lock. So all you need to do is insert a straight pin through the insulation of that wire. Then to the same thing at pin 11, the sensor ground pin of the plug (black/light green). Finally touch the two straight pins together momentarily which will cancel the alarm. Then try to start the engine, and when it is running steadily you can pull the natural color plug out of the module WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING  and that will disconnect the theft system permanently. You can try the same pin grounding technique at the light green/orange wire on pin 18 which is connected to the driver door lock cylinder, if grounding pin 4 doesn't do the trick. That is the what you need to end this situation.
