Thanks for all the help Roland
it is a3.3 the wife drove it up shut it off and I went out to go to town and there was the problem the van has been absolutly without problems up til now. with your info I am certain the pump has gone sour 209.000 miles i guess it's about time. Josephtl6cs
If you don't hear it run when you directly jump power to it across the front/rear pin sockets of the fuel pump relay, than it does appear that it has given out. But don't replace it yet if it starts reliably by a jumper. The egr valve should be checked out first. Thanks again for your support.

| Comment | Thank you again for your help it let me ck the things I needed to and now I know how the circuit works, based on all of that the pump has seen it's last days. jumping the relay did not make it work nor direct power to the pump and all other things ck out so I feel ok about installing a new pump.
