Question
The driver side mirror has fogged up. Do I need to replace the entire assembly as the dealer is telling me or can just the mirror be replaced? If I have to replace the mirror assembly what would the steps be or were can I go to find the instructions for replacing the mirror assembly.
If all I have to do is replace the mirror but not the assembly what would be the steps in that process?

Answer
Hi Phillip,
I assume this is the auto dimming sort of mirror. If the dealer parts counter does not offer a replacement mirror then probably the entire assembly needs to be replaced unless you can find something on eBay from an aftermarket provider. On the other hand, the service manual shows that a conventional or heated mirror alone can evidentally be replaced, so you might wish to check out whether that mirror could be substituted in the dimming mirror assembly that you now have. Often time you can simply glue the new mirror to the face of the old mirror.  Again, ask at the parts department. I can copy the pages from the Chrysler shop manual that show either how to replace the entire assembly or just the conventional mirror and send those pages to you as an attachment to an email.
To do that I need to know your email address which I routinely do not see. I need to have you tell me what it is by means of a follow-up question wherein you type in the address in the text section. BUT, you must use the 'private' option other wise email addresses are deleted and I can't view then.
