Question
I see where you answered someone else about this problem and helped him.  Link here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Chrysler-Repair-807/2011/1/96-Sebring-coupe-Transmiss...

I am having the same problem with my 97 Chrysler Sebring LX coupe.  It's a V6 with a 2.5l engine, automatic.

Now that I know what part I need, no one seems to have it.  I even show them exactly what I need by showing them under the hood.  They tell me if I give them a part number they can give me the part.  Trouble is, none of the numbers on the relay coincide with any of the parts stores.

Aside from going to the dealer, how can I get this part number.

Appreciate your help in advance!

Answer
Hi Barb,
I wonder if you might not be able to get a part number that referenced to a '96 Mitsubishi automobile that has the 2.5L V-6 with electronic transaxle. Your Sebring coupe was built by Mitsubishi but marketed by Chrysler so I would believe that a similar year Mitsubishi with the same engine/transmission would have the identical transmission control relay. Referencing the part to a domestic Chrysler Sebring Convertible is probably why you can't find what you need. The model called a Dodge 'Avenger' would also have the same relay in all likelihood. So try that as well. I would not expect the part number in your car to agree with a part number in the auto parts store. But their catalog should indicated a transmission control relay for a Dodge Avenger with the same engine as yours and the electronic automatic transmission.
I don't have parts catalogs so can't look it up myself.
