Chrysler Repair/Chrysler lhs 1994: alarm system defeat?

Question
I tried starting my car and a ticking noise started and my hazard lights start flashing and the car would not turn over when started (gas was not pumpimg). Someone that was helping me said they think my gas pump went out(he was trying to pump gas thru engine as I started car by pushing on a lever) I found out later that the ticking noise was a built in alarm in car.  It would stop ticking on its own after about 3 minutes but car still would not start and everytime I tried starting car ticking noise would start again also a red light on dashboard was flasing (alarm light)  I had car towed home and took off battery cable to prevent ticking noise from starting spontaneously. An hour later I put battery cable back on, ticking had stopped and car started.  Do you think my gas pump is going out or was it the built in alarm that caused the gas not to pump?  Is there a way I can disarm the alarm? Please help me I am in desparate need of fixing my car and really cant afford a mechanic.

Answer
Hi Anna,
Unfortuately the alarm is built in to another device that is needed for the vehicle called the body computer. So it can't be disconnected separately. The best approach is to avoid arming the system and you can do that by not using the power door locks or the door key to secure the vehicle but rather just push the door buttons down by hand when you leave and that way you will not set the alarm system (as good as disconnecting if you can get in the habit). Also if the car has a remote door opener/locker don't use that either.
To disarm you can use the key on either front door: lock then unlock. If neither door will clear an alarm situation then you can do an electricial jump with a wire at the body control module which I can describe for you. But for a start, just always use the mechanical push buttons to lock the doors, and don't use the power lock switch or the door keys to secure it.
