Question
Hello,

I own a 2001 chrysler sebring. Today on the way to work my radio and blinkers decided to stop working. What could cause these two things to stop working at the same time?

Thanks for all your help in advance!

Answer
Hi Kathryn,
Check fuses 5,8,9,11,14 and 15 in the fuse box that you will find after removing the end cap from the left (driver's side) of the dash. Look for a frank blow out of the internal wire or a subtle crack in the wire, of each. It is possible that you will also find some other functions are 'out' so let me know if that is the case and you can't identify a blown fuse among the ones I have listed. There may be a blown main fuse in the power box in the engine compartment that supplies current to several fuses behind the end cap of the dash. The pattern of which things are 'out' helps me to identify which fuses are suspect.

PS Thanks for the rating and nomination. I would also take a look in the power box under the hood at fuse #20 which powers the blinker unit proper. It is a smaller fuse in rear row (those are numbered 19 to 25 from the middle to the inside edge of the box. It has nothing to do with the radio so that would have to be 5,8,or 14 in the dash to take out the radio. Fuse 15 in the dash is dedicated to the turn signal controls (but not the blinking proper).
