Chrysler Repair/1998 sebring convertible 2.5L: brake warning lamp

Question
The regular brake light has come on. The fluid in the resevoir is at the proper level. About a year ago I changed all the brake fluid in the system, both rear cylinders and a caliper in the front. About 6 months ago I had a small leak which caused the light to come on. I fixed that no problem and all has been well since. What else causes the "regular" brake light to illuminate? Thank you
Dan

Answer
Hi Dan,
The regular (not ABS) brake warning lamp will come on for two reasons: either the level of brake fluid in the reservoir is low OR the parking brake 'on' switch has been activated by the brake lever. Roland
PS Thanks for the rating/nomination. I re-read the manual and it appears that there no longer is the differential pressure comparison switch which has been a part for many years. So check the parking brake lever to possibly not retracting far enough to turn off the switch. Also, if the level in the reservoir is OK then the level switch or its wiring may be faulty.
