Roland,
Looking at all of your responses, it sue does look like you know your stuff. That said, I have a 2000 chrysler lhs (87,000) ses light came on 6 months ago I changed the plugs and coil packs, light went off and ran good. Now same exact thing is happening again, I get codes p0301 and p0300. I changed the plugs again 3 days ago, light went off and it just came back on again. do I need to change the coil packs again? why does this keep hapening, could it be something else? I just hat the cat converter and mufflers replaced

Hi Jim,
The 0301 points to a miss at the cyl #1. So check that cylinder's coil wiring and  perhaps see what its compression is. The tan/red on the coil plug goes to pin 11 at the pcm, and the dark green/red could be checked to the same wire at plug 3 or 5. Check for continuity and shake the harness a bit.  Unless it is missing on several cylinders I would focus on cyl #1.
