Chrysler Repair/radio stops emitting sound-'01 Town/Country 3.3

Question
Radio stops emitting sound when changing a station approx 20 min after turning on engine.  Seems if cold, radio works fine, then when gets warm, stations change etc, but no sound.  If I just restart engine- sound comes on again-until change station. Had the air conditioning on full blast- seemed to work longer before sound stopping a few times.

When first started, the sound would stay the same(couldn't adjust the volume- or would play ok and couldn't change the station.  Then when turned on again was fine for a while. Now it is the sound as described above every time driving. Is the radio going  or a fuze that can be replaced?

Answer
Hi Matt,
I believe that there is a component in the radio that is beginning to fail when it heats up. This could either be a chip or an electrolytic capacitor. I the only way to find it easily would be to remove the radio and open it up. Then reconnect it, power it up, then try a can of circuit board cooler spray applied judiciously to each such component with a small spritz of fluid from the spray can until you find the one that restores the function after it has shut down. Then unsolder and replace the component. I doubt it outside the chassis of the radio.
