Question
Last year I had the timing belt and waterpump replaced because at 155,000 I thought it was overrdue. The old parts were in great shape. We put in Prestone Antifreeze that was supposed to be compatible with all makes.
One year and 7000 limes later it began overheating. The shop I had it towed to replace the coolant tank, then thermostat, then said the coolant flow was low and should have water pump and timing belt replaced. They seemed to be throwing parts at the problem, so I took it home. It overheated on the way home.
I have bled the air out of the cooloinf system, checked the radiator for flow, even removed the themstat completely.
I could find no leaks of any kind. No oil in the coolant. No coolant in the oil. No steam in the exhaust.
Could the water pump really stop moving coolant (corroded impeller) in less than 1 year?

Which engine do you have?
When you say overheating, what are the symptoms: temp gauge? coolant bottle overflow? loss of coolant slowly from ?
On the radiator test: how was that done?
I doubt the water pump would fail so quickly as regards fins.
So let me know.
