QUESTION: hallow again tried to send another question in answer to your question, the fualt code is p1131 and the car won't start with another car and leads

ANSWER: Hi Alan,
The fact that it will 'bump' start, but not with the starter motor, suggests to me two possibilities:
1. that despite the jump from another vehicle the starter motor is demanding so much current that the voltage on the system is dragged down to too low a value while the motor is being cranked to allow for the engine to 'catch' and run, or
2. that the ignition switch is faulty when you try the start position because the circuits that operate the fuel/glow plug etc. are not connected as they need to be when you try the start position.
I would suggest that you go to the ignition switch and measure the voltage on pin 3 (pink/white wire) while in the 'run' position and while in the 'starter' position of the switch. Let me know those voltage readings. (That measure could also be made at the battery + post for ease).  Do the same thing on pin 1 of the ignition switch (violet/orange wire, and this does have to be made at the switch) and let me know the readings.
To get to the switch you need to remove the lower dash panel (three screws:two at the parking brake release handle, one on the inside edge of it), detach the parking brake cable from the handle, and then you can remove the several screw on the panel which is under the steering column and that panel proper which allows you to get to the switch which in on the opposite side for the column from the key.
About the 1131, that may be a false/inapplicable code because it is about the heated oxygen sensor, but there is no such sensor on the diesel engine. I doubt in any case such an issue would be involved in your problem if you had such a sensor.

QUESTION: another problem i have, is can you adjust the clutch on this car as it is hard to get the car into first and bites as soon as you lift your foot off the clutch.

ANSWER: Hi Alan,
The clutch is operated hydraulically, not mechanically via a master cylinder on the clutch pedal and a slave cylinder at the clutch housing. The '02 manual describes how to remove and replace those cylinders but does not describe any method to add fluid or bleed air from the systems. It is not clear to me whethter there is any solution short of replacing either one of those cylinders, but first you would need to figure out which one is faulty. I am not experienced with this set up and can only tell you what I see in the manual. If you have a good mechanic who is familiar with servicing hydraulic clutch systems then I could copy the details of the specifics of changing those two cylinders and attach them to an email. To do that I need to know your email address. You can tell me that by means of a follow-up question wherein you select the 'private' option and list the email address. If you don't click on the private option then the address is automatically deleted from the message. It looks like the slave cylinder is much easier to replace so I would advice trying to do that first.

QUESTION: now hav faults p1130, p1131 and p0340, cant check power readings i hav no way to do this, car will start first thing in the morning or if left standing for a time.

Hi Alan,
I think we have an answer about the difficult starting with the 0340 code which says the cam shaft position sensor signal is weak or absent. That sensor is mounted on the rear of the cylinder head, is round in shape and it surface is divided into 8 segments like a pie.
You remove the plug which has 3 wires (black/gray,dark blue/dark green,brown white), then you remove the 2 screws and the sensor comes off. You will see a target magnet attached to the cam shaft but if it is not cracked it need not be removed or replaced. Just install the new sensor and tighten the screws to 10 foot pounds. If you do remove the magnet you have to be very careful when intalling it to not overtorque its screws (30 inch-pounds or torque, no more) or you can crack the magnet.
The 1130 and 1131 are codes for non-existent parts (heated oxygen sensors) on the diesel engine so are probably irrelvant.
