I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring conv. with the 2.4L engine. The original ignition key recently broke and had to replace it.  A few weeks later, it began acting like the antitheft system was locking me out it would start and run for a couple of seconds, then not even turn over at all.  I have tried locking/unlocking with key on both doors.  Driver's side now won't unlock with key, but will lock with key. Disconnected and reconnected battery cables. Turned key to "on" position for 1 hour. Some of these have worked temporarily, but nothing permanently. Ideas?

Hi Doug,
Have you tried to get a fault code readout via a socket under the dash? An Autozone store will usually do that for free. Let me know the 4-digit code number, if any.
