Question
Okay, I have a 98 Chrysler Cirrus 6cyclinder 2.5lengine it runs for a good minute then when i stop somewhere it will not start up until like 30min to 1hour when it cools back down i went to the mechanic to get a diagnosis he said that it was the distrubutor so i bought a new one and my dad replace it so i drove it a couple of days and its doing the samething so i was asking what could be the problem. So I took the distubutor back got another one an my dad put it on and it still doing the same problem. It also has a new alternator, starter, spark plugs wires, battery.

Answer
Hi Jackee,
My suspicion is that the other engine sensor is the problem (the crankshaft position sensor, not the sensor in the distributor) because when a sensor fails it often does so as it get hot, and then recovers when it cools down. But it could be something else too. So the best thing to do is go to an Autozone or similar nationwided autoparts store where they often will do a free readout of the engine controller to see if it has recognized the problem, given it a fault code number, and stored that in its memory. If the code is 0320 it is the crank sensor, while the 0340 would be the cam sensor which is in the distributor.  Let me know the code and we can go from there.
