Chrysler Repair/lower reverse solenoid

Question
2005 dodge 1500 wont shift out of 3rd gear ,have been toldits a lower revers solenoid - where is that and does it seem right 90000 miles serviced trans at 60000

Answer
Hi Stephen,
If the fault code readout said the l/r solenoid is the problem then I would believe it. I don't have a manual for the 1500 truck (is that more like a Dakota/Durango/or Ram truck as I do have manuals for those?). The solenoid is in the solenoid pack which may either be mounted on the outside of the trans or inside but accessible by dropping a pan. That sort of issue can come up at the mileage you have.

Don't use "Add to this answer" if you still have a question...ask it. As to trucks and jeeps I only have manuals for the '04-'06 model years.
