Question
QUESTION: Car runs good cold but as it warms up starts dieing at stop sign or idleing. Put a waterpump in and timing belt.Tried a new iac and plugs and wires were needed.still doing it .Exhaust smells  sulfur and stats running rough when it acts up.

ANSWER: Hi Steve,
Get the diagnostic trouble codes from the engine controller memory using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elaped time. Then watch the odometer window to see the mileage reading change to show 4-digit numbers preceded by a P.
Let me know the numbers and we'll go from there.

QUESTION: Sorry no codes drove it about 60miles

ANSWER: Try it again and this time watch whether the check engine light, which should remain "on", begins to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure of an accurage set of flash counts. Then let me know.
If that doesn't work then go to an Autozone or similar nationwide autoparts store where they may give a free fault code readout using a plug-in fault code reader. Or an independent garage will do it for under $40. But one way or the other we have to get a fault code readout or it is just going to be throwing parts at the problem which is very expensive.

QUESTION: hi code is p1684 .If i tap on map sensor makes worse.

Answer
The 1684 is saying the battery was disconnected in the past 50-100 ignition key cycles. If that isn't the case then you may have a loose connection at the battery. Take a look at the map sensor mounting to see if it might be leaking around the base or that the wire harness might be compromised. What you describe is a mixture issue but there are many possible causes and you may just have to keep checking until a specific code comes into view.
