Chrysler Repair/2005 T&C Sliding Door Latch Issue

Question
Greetings.  I own a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country with ~98K miles.  About 9 months ago, we had a problem with the  automatic locks not closing the sliding door on the driver's side.  About 2 months ago, my wife and I went to lock the door by hand and the little knob came off in our hand.  Now the door is permanently locked and cannot be opened from the inside or outside.  That wouldn't be a problem except that we have several kids who have to get in and out on a single side now.

Is there a quick way to remove the door panel from the inside in order to replace any defective/broken equipment inside the door?  I'd like to avoid spending too much money if possible.

Answer
Hi Doug,
It appears that you can remove the trim panel/stop bumper/latch handle and thus gain access to the latch mechanism. The best way to share that info would be for me to copy the pages off the '05 shop manual I have on CD and attach those to an email I would send directly to you.
I don't know your email address so you have to tell me what it is via a NEW question and where you have clicked to make it PRIVATE. So do that I will copy and email the pages to you.
