Question
HELLO ROLAND,
I AM SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET BACK TO YOU. TO REFRESH MY SON HAS 88 LEBARON CONV 2.2 TURBO WITH STALLING PROBLEM. YOU SAID TO CHECK FAULT CODES BY COUNTING ENGINE LIGHT. HERE IS FLASH COUNTS. 1 PAUSE 2 PAUSE 5 PAUSE 5 PAUSE.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Answer
Hi Diane,
The 12 code merely says that the battery was disconnected some time in the recent past (50-100 key on-off cycles). The 55 verifies that the codes were all read out to you.
So there is not a specific code that offers an explanation for hard starting. How long since the spark plugs were changed? When the engine is running at night, in the dark, have you looked to see if there is any arcing around the spark plug wires? Is there any possibility of the igntion cap or rotor at the distributor being cracked or compromised? Those are the sorts of things that would lead to a poor spark. The fuel pressure might do well to be checked out and should be at about 55 psi. Lastly would be to check the compression of the four cylinders which should be a minimim of 100 psi and differ from one another by less than 25%.
If there is anything else in the history or the situation or which I overlooked from you initial question please let me know.
