Question
Radio is not picking up signals. Sometimes get weak reception and often within a couple miles of radio station, reception comes in strong. Wondering if it might be a short in antenna wire?
Thanks for your help.
Wayne

Answer
Hi Wayne,
I suspect is is the antenna, or at least you would want to check out that wire. The lead plug in behind the radio which is accessed by removing the decorative bezel and then the screws that secure the chassis in place. Also go to the location of the antenna on the body and check for the connection of the cable to the base of the antenna. The "04 manual suggests that you check the chassis ground wire to be connected tightly (also on the rear of the radio), and check the continuity of the tip of the antenna to the tip of the antennal plug at the radio, and the ground shield of the antenna cable tested to be truly grounded to the chassis. I can copy several pages out the manual and attach them to an email if you would like to see those. To let me know your email address you have to tell it to me by asking a NEW question (not a follow-up question) and check the box to make the question PRIVATE. Then specifically type in your email address in the text of the question space.

PS: I have to out for about an hour so will be shown as "maxed out". But when I get back I'll be Available at which point do send me that Private and New question. Thanks for the kind remarks and nomination.
