Question
I find that sometimes while driving the car shifts to second gear and does not go out anymore but if I turn off the car and back on it's normal again. Th code is P1776.

Answer
Hi Alwin,
That code means that a solenoid switch valve in the valve body of the transmission is stuck in the low-reverse position. If that is the case then the valve body needs to be dropped out of the transmission and serviced. That doesn't require removing or rebuilding the transmission, just dropping the pan and then removing the valve body. I would try to find a reputable local transmission shop that is familiar with the transmission for this job or do it yourself. If you are doing it yourself get the instruction pages from the manual which I can share with you.
If this is intermittent you might try replacing the transmission fluid (10 quarts via a pressure flush, so not cheap). Is the fluid still pink, or does it smell burnt? No guarantees that will work.
