I have a single disc DVD player in my 07 Grand Caravan. A few weeks ago we had CEL with a P1607 code. We took it to the dealer, they couldn't find anything wrong and cleared the code. About the same time the battery was struggling during the really cold days to turn over. Always started, but occasionally would take several tries. A few days later (after the last battery incident), the DVD stopped working. The radio is fine (and will play CDs), but when I put in a DVD player, you can hear the DVD spinning, the screen is black with "reading DVD" in the corner, but it doesn't play. After a few minutes, the player will spit the DVD back out with ERROR displayed. Help! I wonder if all the codes and battery issues are related the DVD not working?

Hi Jill,
I don't have a manual that gives details about the DVD player. Have you checked the owner's manual or other audio/video manual that came from the factory with the vehicle?
The 1607 code is related to the engine controller module but unless the vehicle won't run well as regards the engine then I would not be concerned about that having occured. It might be related to the battery being weak/stressed in the cold weather.
Sorry to not have anything to offer you that is specific to the issues.
