Chrysler Repair/Trans in limp-mode despite rebuild

Question
QUESTION: 2000 Sebring JX.  Just replaced trans, selenoid, controller, etc...still won't shift into gear...was in limp mode prior to changing the trans (used)...is worse than ever now...

Electrical?  If so..where should I start.  I've been reading about some splicing wires issues and an EATX fuse..

Your thoughts..Please

ANSWER: You need to get a fault code readout of the transmission controller. Try a nationwide auto parts store such as Autozone for a free readout. Or a local shop will do it for around $40.
Ask for the code number, what it means, what they recommend doing. Then let me know and we'll compare notes. Only knowing the code(s) will allow me to size-up what to do next.

QUESTION: As it turns out the lines for the transmission cooler had loose clamps.  Once they were tightened up the transmission stopped "blowing out" fluid in transit.

Had a friend that used to have a trans shop put it on the lift.  when he saw the streaks of trans fluid across the bottom of the car he began to look for a leak...(we reported low fluid but no puddles in the driveway).  The streaks were his first clue...once he worked it back wards...he found the source.  He said getting to the hoses and clamps are a booger and often overlooked.

thankfully all this cost was the replacement fluid.  Car has been driving like a champ for a few weeks now.  Keeping our fingers crossed we have gotten all the mechanical issues over with.

thanks for your help...and I hope this helps others.

Answer
Hi Kimberly Lyn,
Thank you for letting me know what the problem was that cause the limp-in mode on you just rebuilt transmission. Looking fluid of course also cause reduced internal operating pressures inside the transmission and thus the failure to shift. That built-in defaulting to limp may be what will have prevented damage to internal parts so there is an exaple of why it is privided.
