Question
QUESTION: Roland,
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300L and having the same issues on my AC unit.  It was making a flapping noise for a while and now that has stopped.  It is now only cooling on the passenger side.  The driver side and back seat areas are not cooling at all.  No lights appearing on the knobs at all anymore.

Will you please send me the information that has been sent to the other customers that were having this same problem that you submitted to them.

Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Karen,
There are two types of heater/ac control panesl: one is 'manual' and just has three knobs, the other is automatic temperature control and it has a digital readout that lets you choose the temperature. Tell me which type you have.
Either controller has a self-diagnostic capability that I can tell you about once I know which type you have.
Because of the loss of 'lights' I would suggest that you check fuse 14 and 40 if you have the manual type or fuses 14 and 41 if you have the automatic temp type controller to see whether a blown fuse may be causeing this problem. Those fuses would be in the power distribution center in the right rear of the trunk.
Let me know and we'll go from there.
Please read the PS below.
Thanks,
Roland

QUESTION: Roland I have the manual heater/ ac with the  three knobs

Answer
Hi Karen,
Did you check fuses 14 and 41?
If so and the problem still exists, then I need to share with you about 5 pages from the 300 manual that tells you how to get fault codes from your control panel. Once you have the fault codes we should then be able to diagnose what is wrong and what you need to do.
To share the pages I have to copy them and attach them to an email I will send to you directly. So send another follow-up in which you tell me your email address, but don't use the @ symbol instead use "at", otherwise the address will be automatically erased.
By the way, what is the 300L model as I thought the choices were 300, 300C, SRT-8 or Touring/Magnum?
Please read the PS below.
Thanks,
Roland
