Chrysler Repair/'85 2.5L fuel inj Turbo I engine

Thank you for excellent advise but I have failed locally to solve this problem, I will pay for the name of a tech that can take this vehicle in and fix it

Hi Greg,
I checked my manuals further and I find that the 2.5L turbo I engine was not sold until the '88 model year. The 2.5L as a non-turbo first was sold in '86. If that were the case, and if your brother used the pcm (engine controller) that came with the '88 engine, then that pcm should produce fault codes via the ignition switch approach which I told you in my earlier answer. A fault code may give us a clue about the causes of the problem you have.
So please try that and let me know. "On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then count the flashes of the check engine light, repeat for accuracy of count.
Something is not consistent in your belief that this is an '85 2.5L turbo I engine. Might it be a 2.2L turbo II which was available in '85 that you have there? If that were the case then you need a code reader to get the fault codes. The bottom of the oil pan on the 2.5L engine has a prominent concave surface at the front, whereas the 2.2L engine's is flat.
Please rate this answer and consider giving me a nomination for volunteer of the month.
