Chrysler Repair - Repairing the heater fan on a Chrysler Mini Van

Expert: Roland Finston - 4/30/2007

Question
Where is the fan itself located on my mini van?

Answer
Hi Frank,
The blower motor is on the right hand end of the heater/AC distribution system, under the dash. I know that for '98-on you can get to it by removing the glove box (release the check strap clips from the door, pivot glove box downward and disengage door hinge hooks from instrument panel, then remove glove box). There are four screws to remove on the lid to the housing for the blower motor. Disconnect the wiring, remove grommet for wiring, feed wiring through housing opening, remove three blower motor screws, allow blower motor to drop down to remove. Installation is the reverse. Prior to '98 (at least thru '95) there was more dash disassembly required. I'm not sure about 96-7 model, as to when things changed.
Roland
