It is a high possibility that the problem is your tumblers. I am also an owner of 99 T&C  trust me DONT end up like us. Our experience started out just as you described and it will happen again. Hopefully you will not be at a gas station at 1:30 AM and now cannot start your car because the key is now unable to turn.  We ended up having to call a lock smith and had to pay $160.00 for this middle of the night assistance. Hopefully you can take care of it before you are suddenly standed. Good Luck

Take your shoe and bang the key into the ignition three times and it will turn.  That worked a year and a half ago and I have not replaced it yet.
