Question
Hi
I have been trying to live life of a christian but have often backsliden and feel i am not forgiven by God for these episodes. I get very negative thoughts of giving up. I also get very depressed and seem to lose hope.

Would you have a ny suggestions on how God sees someone who has willfuly sinned after receiving his grace and spirit?

Thanks

Answer
Thankyou for your question Toby

First off let's thank God that he is God and that He does not see or judge man like we would often do.  When God forgives us, we are forgiven.  Those who have that relationship with God where the blood of Jesus cleanes them from every sin can continue to ask forgiveness and recieve it.  Paul tells us there is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ (Romans 8:1).  In other words, we are not damned, set to judgement, or unforgiven before GOd.  I know many Christians have besetting sins and often feel backsliden or depressed because we commit them over and over again, and have to repent over and over again.  But, the good news is that God will forgive us OVER and OVER again, there is no limit to God's love and forgiveness.  My suggestion for you is that you pray to you can see yourself as God sees you, that is as one of His children that He loves and forgives eternally.  I think if we all saw God that way, it would help us with our Christianity.  Have a blessed day

Experience

I was born and raised in the Church of Christ and was baptized at age 10. With the help of my mother and father, brothers and sisters of the church, christian friends etc...I have a profound knowledge of the truth about the Word of God. I am strong in my beliefs and convictions and will answer anyones questions with scriptual knowledge and fact. I want to boldly proclaim the true Word of God according to Bible principal instead of what I think or what someone has told me.
