Churches Of Christ/official record of baptism

Question
I would like to know how baptisms records are kept, if they are. I lost my original certificate and had my church print me out another one, but I would like to know if, when a person is baptized as a Christian in a protestant church, the information is recorded officially in some "book". Thank you!

Answer
Thankyou for your question Emma

I can't speak for the baptismal records of the protestant church because I am not a member of that church, but I will give you an example of how the Mile High Church of Christ keeps baptism records.  We have records kept at the church so anyone who may need a certificate (record) of their baptism can simply ask for it.  Also, we print those records on our weekly bulletins according to the year and the anniverseries off all those baptized in the past (say for this year 2008 we record the names and dates of all those baptized this year, and then the month and year off all our members baptized in the past).  It is a very effective way to keep records of baptisms.   The main thing to remember is that all baptized believers are recorded in God' Book of Life in heaven, and I know that bypasses any records we can keep down here on earth.  Have a blessed day

Experience

I was born and raised in the Church of Christ and was baptized at age 10. With the help of my mother and father, brothers and sisters of the church, christian friends etc...I have a profound knowledge of the truth about the Word of God. I am strong in my beliefs and convictions and will answer anyones questions with scriptual knowledge and fact. I want to boldly proclaim the true Word of God according to Bible principal instead of what I think or what someone has told me.
