Question
Is the laying on of hands applicable today and exactly what does the laying on of hands mean?  Please give me scriptures.

Answer
Thankyou for your question today Claudia

There are various reasons in the scriptures why God used the laying on of hands to help people.  Jesus laid hands on people to heal them (Matt 19:15, Mark 5:23, Mark 6:5).  The Holy Spirt was given unto people by the laying on of hands by the apostles, in Acts 8:17-18 a sorcerer that became a believe named Saul had seen how the Holy Spirit was given unto me when the spostles laid hands on them, he tried to pay for the power.  It was also given unto the presbytery (elders) to lay hands on someone to further equip them for ministry.  Timothy the evangelist being one (1 Tim. 4:14).  The scriptures gave no mention of the laying on of hands having an expiration date so it is not for me to say if it is applicable for today or not.  But the New Testament has examples of it being used to heal by Jesus, the apostles having the abiliy to impart the Holy Spirit, and being used by elders to equip an evangelist for ministry.  Have a blessed day

I was born and raised in the Church of Christ and was baptized at age 10. With the help of my mother and father, brothers and sisters of the church, christian friends etc...I have a profound knowledge of the truth about the Word of God. I am strong in my beliefs and convictions and will answer anyones questions with scriptual knowledge and fact. I want to boldly proclaim the true Word of God according to Bible principal instead of what I think or what someone has told me.
