Question Were the apostles baptized in water after being baptized with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost just like Cornelius' household also was (Acts 10:57)? Also, in view of Luke 7:29-30, would it be presumptuous to assume that all the apostles were also baptized by John (Clearly Andrew was (John1:35-42)
Answer Thankyou for your question Boniface
The New Testament does not say if any of the original apostles were baptized with water after being baptized with the Holy spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2). They are recorded being the ones doing the baptism(s) in the NT, the only apostles recorded being baptized after pentecost was Paul (Acts 9:18). Even when Jesus called the apostles out in the gospels, it does not say He personally baptised them or told them to be baptised...but He did tell them to do so (Mark 16:16). In the Luke account it say that TWO of John's disciples followed Jesus and that ONE of them was Andrew, so it would be a little presumptuous to assume all the apostles were baptized by John when we only know for sure that only one was even a disciple of John.
