Churches Of Christ/Hell

Question
Thanks for your time,  my question is can a christian go to hell? Can one loose their salvation?

Answer
Certainly.  The NT is replete with texts concerning finishing the course, remaining faithful, and falling from Grace.  James 5:19-20 for example says that if a Christians sins and another Christian restores them, they have saved that person's soul from death!  Gal. 5:4 speaks of falling from Grace.  One cannot fall from something they were never in.

But falling from Grace and becoming lost again is not a momentary thing.  Many try to ask "well, if you live faithfully your whole life, then get into a car accident and right before you die, you cuss or something, do you go to hell?"  This question comes from a complete misunderstanding of what the Bible teaches about falling away.  So long as we are walking in the light, Jesus' blood continually cleanses us from our sin (1 John 1:7).  It's when we turn our backs on God, when we reject Him, even if it is just to try to get to Heaven on a man-made path, that we are no longer continually cleansed.  That is what it means to fall from Grace.

Only by turning to walk in darkness again can a Christian fall from God's Grace and die in their sins and end up in Hell come Judgment Day.
