Churches Of Christ/Catholics

Question
I am not a Catholic, but I wondered if what I heard was true. I was told that Catholics don't go to heaven. Of course only Jesus knows, but is this a likely truth that Catholics go to hell? I have always admired many Catholics I know. I am Baptist myself and always will be.

Answer
Thankyou for your question Michael

I think as Christians we should not worry about a particular group (in this case Catholics)that may or may not be going to heaven.  For all that don't obey God before death, hell is there destination.  I am not Catholic either and do not agree with most of their practices because they are not found in God's Word, but who I am to judge another person's faith? Only God can do that.  But I do know that he has laid out the conditions in His Word and we must follow and obey His Word if we want heaven to be our home. I want to pray for anyone (Catholic or otherwise) whose faith and practices are contrary to God's Word that they realize their error and turn to the truth before it is everlastingly too late.  Jesus told his apostles that "he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16) so salvation is obviously laid out in the New Testament.  So, the only way Catholics or anyone else will condemn themselves to hell is if they fail to submit and obey God's Word in their lifetime.  Hope this helps

God Bless

Experience

I was born and raised in the Church of Christ and was baptized at age 10. With the help of my mother and father, brothers and sisters of the church, christian friends etc...I have a profound knowledge of the truth about the Word of God. I am strong in my beliefs and convictions and will answer anyones questions with scriptual knowledge and fact. I want to boldly proclaim the true Word of God according to Bible principal instead of what I think or what someone has told me.
