We are considering relocating from Michigan to the Lake Chapala, Mexico area.  We are trying to determine if there are English speaking congregations of the Church of Christ in the area and, if so, their locations and distances from the Lake Chapala area.  If there are none locally, where are the closest ones located?  Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Brother Ritenour, Looking at a map ( http://www.virtualmex.com/jalisco_sct.jpg ), Guadalajara appears to be within about 40 km of Chapala. This is moderately good news. I say this, because all I could find was Guadalajara. This may be due to a technology void outside metropolitan areas within Mexico. Even the last entry below, Zapopan, is a North Western suburb of Guadalajara. You are South of Guadalajara, so this would be furthest from you. If there are others, they have not listed themselves on the web. Perhaps, if you find a sound congregation in this list, they will know of another one, even closer to you; the closer to the source you reach, the truer the information will become.

Obviously, I am not Mexican. I have only been as far into Mexico as Tiajuana, and that, only once. I cannot vouch for the soundness of any of these. I HIGHLY reccomend you investigate any of these by visitation or phone. Also, some (most?) of the contact personnel may be outdated. However, I do believe most of the phones to still work. Also, the emails cost nothing if they are now incorrect, it would not hurt to try.
