Churches Of Christ/Qualifying Elders

Question
Dear Onaga,
  Greetings from the Carolina's,
My question is, is are Elders responsible for their children after the children have left his household?

Answer
Thankyou Leonard

While the bible does speak of the submission and obedience of the wife and children as qualifications for being an elder, it speaks of them as a household.  The bible says that if a man can not rule over his own household, how can he take care of the Church of God.  If a man is already and Elder and his children are old enough to leave home, those children are no longer under the "household."  Since the children are grown enough to leave they become responsible for themselves now that they have to take care of themselves.  Elders are not responsible for their grown children if those children can take care of themselves (own house, car, food, paying of bills).

Experience

I was born and raised in the Church of Christ and was baptized at age 10. With the help of my mother and father, brothers and sisters of the church, christian friends etc...I have a profound knowledge of the truth about the Word of God. I am strong in my beliefs and convictions and will answer anyones questions with scriptual knowledge and fact. I want to boldly proclaim the true Word of God according to Bible principal instead of what I think or what someone has told me.
