Question
how are some ways to tell if my cigars have "cigar beetles" thanks for your help

Answer
Tay,
It's easy to tell. If you find cigars with small round holes in them or tunnels eaten through them, you have cigar beetles. The bugs hatch from larvae laid in the tobacco and then eat their way out and through cigars. They will also eat through cellophane wrappers. In the very early stages after they hatch you might find tobacco "dust" inside the cigars cellophane wrapper - this is from the bugs beginning to eat their way out of the cigar. We sell a tobacco bug pheromone trap that attracts the male tobacco beetle and catches him on a sticky surface. If you'd like one give us a call at (800) 221-0638 and ask for item #998200 SafeTrap Bug Trap - cost is $19.95.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
