Have you tryed the new Cuaba Piramides Edición Limitada 2008? i would love to know whats it like...
THANKS for your help

Answer
Hi Mario,

What you can do to keep your cigars humidified is to store them in humi-pouches.  Humi-pouches will keep your cigars humidified for up to 90 days and they are completely reuseable during this time.  Humi-pouches are Ziploc-style bags with a humidified lining built into the plastic membrane.  Once the seal is broken, these bags will humidify your cigars for 90 days.  After 3 months, you will need to replace the bag.  They vary in size and can hold everything from a few single cigars to whole boxes.  Depending on the size, they will cost anywhere between $5 to $15 per bag and are for sale at most cigar stores/tobacconists.

As an alternative, you can also keep your cigars in a large plastic container (such as a storage bin or beverage cooler) fitted with a humidification device.  This method however, is more bulky in size and harder to travel with.

It's possible that your cigars may be fine for 12-15 hours outside the box but they will definitely need to be rehumidified before you smoke them.

Hopes this answers your question.  As always, if you have any more questions, please feel free to just ask and I will be happ to help.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
