Cigars/Beautiful cigars being sent across country

Question
Hi Bill,

I have 2 beautiful cigars brought in from a neighboring country.  I am shipping them within the US coast-coast.  I am worried the cigars might have already begun drying out...do you have any suggestions on how to restore?

Also, what would you suggest as the best method to ship these cigars without them taking on any damage and to keep them fresh while being shipped?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Answer
Michael,

If the cigars are a little dry, all they need is some time in a humidor and they will come back to life. If you don't have a humidor get a Humi-Pouch, a zip lock type bag with a disposable humidifier in it - from your local tobacconist. We sell them for $2.95, so they are an inexpensive way to keep up to 5 cigars fresh for 30 days.

These bags make great shippers to - just put the cigars in the bag and then in any box (i.e. an old cigar box).

Hope this helps.
Bill

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
