Question
QUESTION: IN YOUR OPINION WHAT IS A BETTER CIGAR,ROMEO VINTAGE OR ROMEO 1875, I
NOTICE VINTAGE IS ONLY SOLD BY JR. WHY IS THAT?

ANSWER: Michael,

Between the Romeo Y Julieta 1875 and the Romeo Y Julieta Vintage, I like the Vintage better. 1875 is made with an Indonesian wrapper which I don't particularly care for. The Vintage is made with an Ecuadorian grown Connecticut Shade wrapper which is much smoother and milder.

JR Cigars is owned by Altadis USA, the makers of all Romeo Y Julieta cigars, so they carry the entire line. The Vintage line is pricey ($7 to $11.50) and is not a great seller, so not everyone carries it, although you will find it in many retail store and some catalog businesses.

If you like the Vintage, try Romeo Y Julieta Reserva Real. Also made with Connecticut Shade wrapper, it does not have the same aged filler blend but is a similar smoke and a heck of a lot less expensive.

QUESTION: what do you think about ACID cigars,i tried kuba kuba and it seems ok,just abit
to sugarie or flavorie for me not enough real smoke,do you know of another
ACID with less sugarie flavor?  Thanks again for the reserva real, i tried it and it
is much smoother than the 1875,not quiet as good as vintage but i guess you
pay for what you get.......mike J

Answer
Mike,

We sell Acid, but I'm not a big fan of those cigars. Kuba Kuba is far and away the best seller. The hard this about those cigars is that every one of them is different and even the literature from the manufacturer isn't very descriptive of how they taste.

Take a look at Atom maduro and Earthiness. I'd suggest you smell the cigar before you buy it and see what you think. I'm thinking those 2 are less wild, but in all honesty I'm not sure.

Sorry I can't give you a better answer.

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
