Question
Hello
I normally smoke cuban cigars but it has started to get expensive for me as customs keep charging me tax's cause i order online. So i'm thinking to start buying cigars from the USA and so i would like your opinion on some cigars that i would like to try:
What do you think of the Partagas Black Label range? i like the look of Magnifico, Piramide and also La Gloria Cubana Serie R: No's 4-5 and plus maduro.
I would just like to know if these cigars are worth buying cause i do like a full-body.
THANKS for your help

Answer
Mario,

The Partagas Black Label and La Gloria Cubana Serie R are both great cigars to try. The Serie R is a very fill-bodied cigar with outstanding character. The Partagas Black Label is a little less full-bodied but does have some strength and is an enjoyable smoke.

You might also consider some of these brands:

El Rico Habana
Romeo Y Julieta Habana Reserve
Ashton VSG or Ashton ESG
Cohiba XV
Hoyo de Monterrey Tradicion
Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra
Punch Gran Puro
La Flor Dominican Double Ligero
Fonseca Cubano
Oliva Serie V
Padron Anniversary 1926
Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve

If you smoke the brands above I'm confident that you'll find at least one or two brands that you enjoy as much as the Cuban cigars you have been smoking but for a lot less money.

Let me know if you have any questions or need a source for these cigars.

Thanks,
Bill

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
