Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I just got my box of Romeo y Julieta sport Largos and the box codes reads: LSM ENE 08. I know ENE 08 is Jan. 08 but what factory is LSM?

ANSWER: Hi Anthony,

The factory that produced these cigars is most likely the RyJ factory.  Habanos changes their factory codes so frequently that it's hard to keep track of factory codes now and most people don't even bother following them.

For more info on current factory codes, go here:

Hopes this helps.

QUESTION: Can I store my cubans in the same humidor with my dominican and honduran premiums?

Answer
Hi Anthony,

Absolutely.  It's perfectly fine to store Cuban cigars along with non-Cuban cigars in the same humidor.  If you have a large humidor with shelves/trays, you can organize your cigars so that your Cuban cigars are stored on one level and your non-Cubans are stored on another level.  Mixing and marrying of flavours between non-Cuban and Cuban cigars is very minimal so it's 100% safe to store them in the same humidor.  If you want to keep your humidor neat and tidy but your humidor doesn't have any trays/shelves, you can separate your Cubans from non-Cubans with the thin Spanish cedar sheets that find in Cuban cigar boxes.  They make excellent dividers and all you need to do is cut them to fit in your humidor.

Hopes this helps.  As always, if you have any more questions, please feel free to just ask and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
James

Expertise

My main area of expertise is Cuban cigars but I can also assist you with cigar etiquette, humidor maintenance and troubleshooting. Unsure of a certain cigar brand? Wondering what a certain cigar tastes like? Have any questions about Cuban cigars? Just let me know! I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. (NOTE: My main focus is on premium, hand-rolled cigars and not cheap, machine made, convenience store cigars.) IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PROVIDE CIGAR OR CIGAR-RELATED APPRAISALS. If you have a vintage cigar item and you want to know if it's worth something, please contact an antique dealer that specializes in "TOBACCIANA".

Experience

I currently have 19 dedicated years of cigar smoking and counting. I have smoked every brand of Cuban cigars and most reputable non-Cuban cigar brands on a regular basis so I know a fair bit about taste profiles, cigar etiquette and other fine nuances to cigar smoking. For 5 years, I studied with Cuban torcedores (rollers), catadores (taste testers) and revisadores (inspectors) on every aspect involving the production of the Cuban cigar and I am currently writing a book that will help beginners understand everything they need to know about cigars and cigar smoking.
