Cigars/Humidor room interior

Question
I have been handed the task of building this room from a previous associate and need to clarify a couple things. We have done the Spanish cedar walls, however the contractor has specified hickory for the faceframe and doors. We a an ABX for the cabinet construction. Is this appropriate and what finish is used on these items. Waterbase sealer? Waterbase urethane?
Hi Jon,
It's perfectly fine to use any type of waterbase sealer for the doors and cabinets. However, the Spanish cedar walls and shelving must be left natural in order for them to absorb and regulate humidity effectively. Everything else such as the moulding, doors and faceframe can be coated with a sealant and painted (if your client prefers it).
In any case, it's best to double check with your client and make sure that's what he wants as he might have his own ideas about what he wants done.
