Hi James,
When preparing my humidor, they say distilled water is what I should use... Is that the case with cigars in tubes? Also, is filtered water ok?
Hi George,
Yes, you should always use distilled water or "bidest water" (double-distilled water) in your humidor. Any other type of water (such as boiled, tap, bottled, filtered, etc.) will contain small traces of minerals and this will accumulate in your humidor in the form of hard water scale. If your humidification device is sponge based, this mineral accumulation can clog the pores in the sponge and compromise its performance; potentially causing mold to form in your humidor.
It's always best to only use distilled water.
