Question
Hello, I recently purchased a new 100 cigar capacity humidor and would like to get a more substantial, and more maintenance free, humidifier/oasis.  The basic one that came with the unit seems unreliable.  Can you suggest a unit please?  Thanks.

Answer
Robert,

You have a couple of choices:

1. If you want to save money and just want a good humidifier, go with a Madelaine Crystal system. The require regular filling with distilled water, but work much better than the typical humidifier that comes with a humidor. Go with the big 250 size and you won't have to fill it as often.

2. A Cigar Oasis humidifier has a large water reservoir and requires less frequent filling than other types of humidifiers. They are electronic units with circulating fans and a digital humistat so you can set it on your desired humidity level, and it will turn itself on and off as needed. I have one in my 100 cigar humidor at the ranch, and it does an exceptional job of keeping the cigars humidified with virtually no maintenance.

You can see both of these systems on our web site at www.finckcigarcompany.com

Expertise

I'm a fourth generation cigar maker and have spent 25+ years operating our factory as well as a mail order cigar company. I belong to cigar manufacturers associations as well as retail cigar associations so I'm usually up to date with current events relating to cigars. I've smoked the majority of brands on the market and would be happy to share my opinions of them with you. Since I live in the U.S. I have very little experience with Cuban cigars, but other than that I know a least a little bit about almost every brand of cigars on the market.

Experience

In addition to growing up in and now managing our cigar factory for 25+ years, I've spent time in many factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic and Mexico. BR>
